A step by step presentation of the creation of the Family Man Stairs Polyptych
No, that's not something dirty.
Any series of paintings that have more than 3 panels is called a triptych. Any more panels than that and you get a polyptych.
Let's start with the sketch.
The idea for this polyptych came to me quite spontaniously and probably under the influence of some moood enhancement utensil.

Then I calculated the measurements based on a rough estimate and drew a detailed plan.
With that plan in hand I went to cut down some pieces of plywood to the right sizes.
I also cut down my fingers and once I applied the canvas stabled a few of them as well. Any real Maluche painting has my, sweat, my blood and my cat's piss on it. Without that, it ain't real.
After priming I sketched the paintings wih some oil pastels onto the canvases. I have to do all of them at the same time since they have to fit together. With the basic proportions right I finalize the outlines in black paint.

I take pictures of that and load them into the computer. From there it allows me to flip them, zoom in and out to check if I got everything right.
I also play around in the computer to determine the colors I will use.
Then I paint.
The whole process took about two weeks.
I can't paint on one painting continous. I need distance now and then.
That done I had a couple of carpenters over who custom made me the frames.
And a day later I brought them to my friend who bought them from me. We tried a few constellations and in the end my friend hang them pretty much the way I planned them to start with.

These paintings are part of the family man series
which in turn is part of my face value series.
The proud new owner of this series chose the title :
21) Family Man who is feeling guilty about having so much fun.
