The good old ear gill fish. I have to admit that as a stick insect hunter it is not really my field but who wouldn't be fascinated by these keen listeners.
It is said that they can hear the increased motion of a fertile female's hormones over a distance of many hundred of miles.
In recent years many of them tragically beached themselves after they got confused by female swimmers undergoing hormone therapy.

I repainted this piece after one I did 12 years ago.
The original is in the collection of Mr. Obeth Lustico
Someone suggested I should paint it again
and have him scratch something else.
I would never do something like that of course.
